Scholarship Info
Education is a key focus of the Academy. Besides the Annual Conference, which the leadership offers each year in August at BYU, the Academy of LDS Dentists also support the education each student receives on their own to achieve the level of becoming a practicing dentist or hygienist.
The Academy of LDS Dentists will award an increased number of $1,000 scholarships to dental students and a limited number of $500 scholarships to dental hygiene students regardless of their undergraduate institutions.
Requirements Include:
- Students need to be members “in good standing” of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and receive a letter of recommendation from their current bishop or branch president in their home ward;
- Students must have completed at least one year of dental or hygienists school;
- Applicants must be a member of the Academy of LDS Dentists;
- Awarded funds can be used any way the recipient desires;
- All areas of the application and ALL DOCUMENTATION must be either sent by email (or postmarked) starting March 1, 2012 and no later than July 1, 2012; and
- Criteria will be based upon merit, financial need, and potential for contribution to the profession.
- A student can only receive one scholarship from the Academy during their schooling.
