Service Potential
“Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is
in thine hand to do it.” -Psalm 3:27
The Academy of LDS Dentists has high and lofty aspirations for our future. Our international service projects will continue to offer education and training, while providing treatment equipment to help others help themselves.
By offering vitally needed healthcare, we are planting the seeds of the gospel throughout the world in our own unique way. By giving service, we are putting our years of education and experience to work and acknowledging the many blessings that we have been fortunate to receive.
It is satisfying to know that you are helping others with your own talents and skills. Though the work is hard, there has never been an individual or couple touched by a service project that has not expressed gratitude for the opportunity. Our impact is becoming even broader, now that we have begun a cooperative relationship with Deseret International. This service group has helped us provide manpower in Uganda, Africa, with many improved smiles – and baptisms as a result.
We have also begun a partnership with the church-organized Internal Action Committee, a branch of the Humanitarian Services Council. This association has enabled us to become colleagues with other humanitarian groups in medical and non-medical activities such as agriculture and literacy. These friendships increase our ability to provide dental treatment and humanitarian service to those in need.
