About the Academy of LDS Dentists

It’s a special privilege and a serious responsibility to serve the healthcare needs of the public. For the dentist who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the  Latter-day Saint (LDS) dentist, that need is interwoven completely with the religious belief that to serve one’s fellow men and women is to serve God.

By blending service with spirituality, we can reach out both temporally and spiritually. The Academy serves our communities by enhancing dentists’ professional skills and knowledge, while serving needy people world wide, all within a gospel environment.

The Academy of LDS Dentists’ annual conference, held each summer at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, combines religion and dentistry in brief, informative presentations on a variety of healthcare, business, and spiritual topics by renowned educators and practitioners.

The conference has a different format in continuing dental education. Members attend a brief morning program where the speakers, give the essence of their subject, followed by an in depth program where the presenters are held to a time limit of a couple of hours ensuring seminars are brief, yet informative. Speakers are chosen from amongst the best in their field – and not due to their religious beliefs.  The conference is offered at a lower cost than any other professional seminars in the world today.
